Mississippi Photography Workshops

A day Workshop or a weekend Workshop we will bring you into the Great parts of Coastal Mississippi, showing you architecture, places of interest, and where the locals go.

We gather for a brief class and then begin our journey.   Vicki Stanwycks assists and teaches how to create images of the Urban and Beach Landscape, Architecture, Color,  People, etc.  

We travel all around the Coastal Areas seeing the sights and sounds of Coastal Mississippi - Including Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian and Gulfport. We start off with a photography class, and take you to various locations to start shooting, using what you have learned and use it around various areas so you can create wonderful images.   See hand picked locations that make for interesting Images with an experienced Photographer/Instructor.  This is quite the Adventure... We start in the morning and shoot till later in the afternoon with a break for lunch.

**Keep in mind what you should bring is what you would travel with traditionally. If traveling keep in mind to make things as simple and as light as possible to keep fatigue at a minimum.

Shooting in Mississippi can be a special Adventure!

During your Mississippi workshop you will capture some great images of the area with your Photo Coach, Vicki Stanwycks.  This is what we call our Mississippi Adventure... We start early in the morning and work till later in the afternoon/early evening with a break for lunch, close to wherever we are.

Vicki Stanwycks assists and teaches how to create images of the Gulf Coast Landscapes including Architecture, People, and places of Interest. If you have wondered about the different places and sights on the Coast, and wish to photograph it,  wonder no more and let Stanwycks Photography show you! Take this workshop.  You will see first hand getting a better idea of how to use your camera...

Photography Workshop

Attendees must be able to stand and walk around. Attendees responsible for their own gear and carrying it. Some shots require walking and moving in larger areas.

  • Attendees should bring their camera gear and Case
  • Lenses - Telephoto recommended as well as a good walk around lens
  • Extra Camera Batteries
  • Extra SD (film) Cards
  • Tripod or Monopod Optional
  • Perhaps some bug spray - Depending on the time of year
  • Snacks if they need them
  • We will have Water, Fruit & Chips
  • Weekend Workshop goers should have their laptop to download their images, and for Image Critiques and Discussions

Mississippi Gulf Coast Photography Workshops
In this Workshop we spend the time dedicated to creating images of the Southern Gulf Coast. Mississippi is filled with color, Sights and Sounds, giving you an opportunity to get in touch with your creative side.
We have a class to begin and then venture off to see and feel as much of the area as we can in our workshop time together. Vicki Stanwycks is with you every step of the way working with you to create beautiful images and see the landscape and it's attributes.  We  can Explore several areas including Boats at the Harbors, Architecture, Fishing Areas, Local People, etc. 

Night Photography Workshop

Night Photography requires skill and a backdrop to aquire that skill. Along the Gulf Coast there are areas that have colorful signage like Neon, the beaches, Bay St. Louis and the the Pass Christian Harbor and places in Gulfport.
Learn to capture the mood and feeling of Night Photography and use the workshop instruction for future travel when shooting at night. 

Street Photography

We offer Street Photography Style Workshops for Shooting wherever you go in the streets for destinations in your future. We use Bay St. Louis, to Long Beach as areas for working on Street Photography styled Photography. There is an art to Street Photography, the landscape, and the people who populate urban locations, cities, and foreign places.  
We go over gear, safety, light, preparation, travel, color, black and white, some computer imaging and learning how to understand your inner photographer.  Vicki Stanwycks personally coaches and works with you in the classroom and on Location to create using the techniques learned in this class.

Urban Street, Nature, & Night Photography Weekend Workshop

Make it a Photography Weekend!!!

A) Mississippi offers a lot of nature and Landscape to photograph. Knowing how to see the landscape and capture images at it's best, can be challenging. We discuss composition, light, camera techniques for good exposure and your camera.  You work the whole time with your Photo Coach, Vicki Stanwycks.

B) This Workshop covers shooting urban areas of Gulf South Mississippi using Street Photography as a part of this weekend. There is an art to Street Photography and the people who populate urban locations, places, and unfamiliar places. Street Photography is timing and journalism at it's best...  Good street photography takes practice and knowing how your camera works. with your Photo Coach this process becomes much easier for you. 

C) Night Photography gives the viewer a completely different feel when viewing photographs.  It's also very challenging to someone getting into photography. Learn to capture the night mood and feeling through light and darkness. Use this the workshops instruction for now and future travel.

At the end of the days. we go over the computer a bit, critique some of your images, and talk about technique, gear, safety, light, preparation, travel, color, black and white, all geared toward learning how to understand your inner photographer.   Vicki Stanwycks personally coaches and works with you in the classroom and on Location to create images... You will be using the techniques learned in this class. Very Informative and lots of fun.

Using Your Camera to Tell Stories...

Photography in general alludes to fun and excitement. Photography also brings one to many places both in your minds eye and in the actual photograph. We travel to exotic places with the idea in mind to create equally exotic Photographs. We are travelers, we are adventure seekers and we want to see and do more and capture it through our cameras.
